Counseling Services
Lifeline offers a full range of counseling services. Lifeline counselors are professional and responsive to critical life issues such as grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. Our counselors can also assist families with today's challenging parent-child and extended family relationship issues. Most services are also available in Spanish.
COUNSELING
Family and child counseling services are provided by Lifeline staff counselors by appointment only (no walk-ins.) Counselors provide encouragement to make life affirming choices and help clients to realize their potential, improve family communication, and handle life transitions. To schedule an appointment, please call (760) 757-0118 x 314 during our intake hours (Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Lifeline offers a voluntary diversion program for first-time youth offenders. A panel of community members hears cases of law-referred youth. A restitution plan is developed. Upon completion of this diversion program, the offense is removed from the youth's record. Please call (760) 757-0118 x 314 for more information.
SPECIALIZED TREATMENT SERVICES (Please call the phone numbers listed below for current schedules and enrollment information)
Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs Diversion Group (ATOD) - Topics include identifying stages of addiction, effects of various substances, the dangers/consequences of substance abuse, cycle of use, values clarification, and communication. (760) 757-0118 x 314
Anger Management Group - The curriculum includes defining anger, physiological responses to anger, anger as a cover for other feelings, conflict resolution strategies, dangers of uncontrolled anger, and relaxation techniques. (760) 757-0118 x 314
Adult Anger Management Group - A 12-week anger management class that teaches conflict resolution strategies. (760) 726-4900 x 302
Decision Making Group - An 8-week psychosocial group designed to identify the process for making decisions. Includes discussions about how values, peer groups, and morals influence decision making, as well as the need for accountability and improving communication skills. (760) 757-0118 x 314
EARLY PERIODIC SCREENING, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT (EPSDT)
Youth ages 8 to18 meeting medical necessity requirements are eligible for this program. EPSDT is a Medi-Cal funded program. Clients receive services either in the school or clinic setting. Treatment may include individual, group, and/or family therapy and psychiatric evaluation. Please call (760) 757-0118 x 314 for more information.
PARENTING CLASSES
Lifeline offers the Safe Parenting Intervention Program, a 52-week parenting series for court-referred, Children's Services Bureau, and voluntary clients. Groups are available for males and females in English and Spanish. The curriculum is based on the San Diego Domestic Violence Council Subcommittee on Child Standards, and addresses both global issues of child abuse and family violence, as well as client-specific problems related to child maltreatment.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM
Lifeline offers court and TERM-approved domestic violence intervention educational courses for male and female perpetrators and male and female survivors. The 52-week program is designed to guide clients toward non-violent and non-abusive methods of communication. Courses are available in English and Spanish.
