Lifeline's mission is to "build self-reliance among youth, individuals and families through problem solving, skill-building and accessible community-based services." Assistance is offered regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, and/or ability to pay.

In December, the New Community Church of Vista set out to raise funds as part of their annual holiday outreach project to purchase hundreds of pairs of shoes for at-risk youth. Church leaders led services barefoot in solidarity with our clients. The congregation came together and raised funds to buy 700 pairs of shoes!

Join us on February 11th for Super Saturday, our kick-off to the 2012 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).
This program provides low-income families with free tax preparation assistance. In 2011, VITA volunteers completed 922 tax returns which brought more than $1.7 million into North County.

When Lazondra Dunlap first approached North County Lifeline, she expressed an interest in volunteering with our after school program.
Today, Lazon volunteers on many different teams including Mediation, Family Self-Sufficiency, and grant writing. She is deeply engaged in the mission of North County Lifeline and her empathy for the underserved is inspiring. When she recently heard about a client whose front teeth had been knocked out, Lazon worked tirelessly to research, write and secure a grant.
