Transitional Housing

CENTRO Transitional Housing Program

CENTRO is a transitional housing program that can assist up to 28 formerly homeless families. At least one member of the household must be a child under the age of 18. The program provides 12 months of rental assistance (with the possibility of an additional 12 months) while the family works toward finding permanent housing and becoming financially self-reliant. During their stay at CENTRO, the family participates in case management with a Life Coach who helps them to:

  • Meet their emergency needs
  • Set employment goals and find stable employment (and/or increase their earning capacity)
  • Create financial goals and develop a spending/savings plan
  • Overcome any other barriers to their self-reliance through referral to Lifeline services and other community resources
  • Provide emotional support and coaching

Families must meet HUD criteria for homelessness.
