Tax Preparation Assistance Lifeline offers free tax preparation assistance year-round for low-income clients who meet income guidelines. Volunteer tax preparers complete and e-file state and federal tax forms and help qualifying clients to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Clients also receive information about and assistance enrolling in no/low cost assistance programs such as food stamps, reduced rate energy programs, health insurance, and child safety seats. Individuals and families are also connected with Lifeline's Family Self-Sufficiency Program and Financial Literacy workshops to help them overcome obstacles to their self-reliance and improve their finances in the long-term. CONTACT: Clients may call the EITC Screening Line at (760) 842-6225 24 hours a day to obtain an appointment for services. Calls are returned within 24 hours. Clients are screened by an Intake Specialist for program eligibility prior to scheduling an appointment.
Financial Literacy Workshops Lifeline offers financial education to individuals where they will learn practical skills for establishing, protecting, and repairing their credit and managing their money wisely. Participants will gain information and learn effective practices in the areas of budgeting, checking and savings accounts, credit and debt management, and taxes and EITC.
