Clinical Supervisor - VIVA

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for participating in clinical oversight of VIVA Counseling, an outpatient mental health program that is part of North County Lifeline. VIVA Counseling provides therapy, case management and psychiatry to North County youth and their families.  Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Clinical Supervisor provides individual and group supervision and oversight to associate and trainee level mental health clinicians. The position may also provide oversight to licensed clinicians. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that services provided to youth and families are being implemented through a client driven wellness and recovery model that is strength based, culturally relevant and trauma informed

Specific Activities
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct weekly individual, triadic and/or group supervision with interns and trainees.
  • Provide ad hoc clinical guidance and oversight to all program clinicians as needed.
  • Maintain each supervisee’s supervision file including all documentation required by the BBS. 
  • Ensure all interns/ trainees are properly oriented to agency and program policies and procedures with regards to all legal and ethical standards including HIPAA, crisis management, duty to warn and child abuse reporting.
  • Stay current on research and developments in the field; plan and/ or execute staff training on clinical topics.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure the program’s clinical processes meet contract requirements.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.
 
 
Qualifications/Requirements
MA degree in social work, counseling, or psychology.  Must be licensed for a minimum of 2 years by California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC). Experience working with youth or families required. Supervisor or Management experience preferred but not required.  Must possess the ability to make sound clinical decisions independently and effectively coach and guide clinicians that are new to the field.

Other Requirements
Reliable transportation. Must have a California driver license and good driving record. Willing to use own, properly insured, reliable vehicle for the job (mileage reimbursed). Employment subject to clearances, including background finger printing checks, driving record, tuberculosis testing, and drug testing.
