- Utilize evidenced based practices to engage youth in participation of services that are client-centered, culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, in order to improve the short/long-term health, safety, and well-being of youth.
- Utilize evidence based or promising practices as the preferred treatment modality for crisis management and safety planning, as well as individual and group sessions.
- Carry a reasonable caseload required by funding source and provide responsive services in the office, home, and/or community setting.
- Assist in program development and resource identification.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of participants’ protected health information and other applicable information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Perform behavioral health assessments in order to facilitate referrals and linkages to designated programs. These may include, but are not limited to: behavioral health services, mental health programs, substances abuse treatment programs
- , educational programs, employment opportunities, housing, recreation and physical activities, and other health and social services.
- Work in tandem with other involved service providers to facilitate the youth’s successful engagement in services and provide crisis management and counseling when needed.
- Conduct comprehensive Mental Health Assessments and screen youth for eligibility to the program
- Report summary of findings and observations based on Mental Health Assessments to the multidisciplinary team
- Develop and implement strength-based individual and family case plans
- Provide family focused therapeutic counseling utilizing evidenced based strategies and a trauma informed approach
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization
- Attend weekly hearings of youth offenders
- Case conference in coordination with other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and others
- Provide in-home family support, case management and treatment (e.g. nutrition, budgeting, safety, home health and support systems, appropriate referrals)
- Provide small group classes and programming for youth on topics identified in case and treatment plans such as anger management, life skills, youth leadership, job readiness and violence prevention.
- Work in partnership with identified treatment programs to support case plan goals, youth engagement in services and compliance to case plan and treatment goals.
- Meet with youth and families in the homes of the youth, in schools, and in the community.
- Facilitate and participate in outreach efforts as directed by program needs
- Attend and participate in case conferences, program meetings, group supervision, retreats, committees, trainings, and other collaborative activities as necessary.
- Track short and long term client progress in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) or program-specific tracking system as required by contract.
- Enters case notes and document interventions and contacts with youth, their families, and identified service programs.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field required.
- Masters-level training in child abuse and all other protective issues preferred.
- Must be registered with BBS, must possess license or be license-eligible
- Training in and mastery of family systems theory and application of diagnostic criteria from the DSM-5 and evidence-based practices
- Must have training/background in conducting clinical assessments and in substance abuse treatment with youth.
- Bilingual Spanish/English required.
- Candidate must possess the ability to make sound clinical decisions independently. Must be able to apply clinical judgment, ethics, and accountability to formulate and implement treatment plans and other clinical documentation.

- Strong skills in engagement, crisis intervention, case management, interviewing, rapport building, assessment, goal setting, and youth participation and development.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, including but not limited to conflict management skills and inter-agency and intra-agency collaborative skills. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Off-site counseling requires own transportation. Willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment (mileage reimburse).
- Successful completion of multi-state criminal background check, TB, and Drug Test.

Salary commensurate with experience and education. Differential pay offered for bilingual skills.

The employee will be required to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer.
